Every single one of our customers was a first-timer once. The learning curve is smaller than you think — and we have built our entire service around making it zero-stress for people who have never done this before. Here is everything in one place.
Delivery vs. Driving — Which is Right for You?
If you have never towed or driven a large vehicle, choose delivery. We bring the RV to your campsite, set it up completely, and give you a full walkthrough. You never move the rig — you just enjoy it. Delivery is our most popular option for first-timers.
If you want to tow yourself, we have weight distribution hitch systems and can walk you through proper hookup. Most people find towing much more manageable than expected — but delivery removes that variable entirely.
What Does Check-In Look Like?
For delivery rentals, we do everything. For self-pickup, you come to our location, we go through a full orientation walk-through and inspection of every system, and you drive off. We go over: water system, propane, electrical, leveling, slideouts, the toilet, the hot water heater, and the generator.
Every rental includes our digital guidebook — a comprehensive walkthrough you can reference any time from your phone. And 24/7 emergency support if you need a human.
Understanding RV Systems
Fresh water tank: Fills before delivery. Use conservatively if off-grid. Grey tank: Shower and sink drain water. Empty before it gets full. Black tank: Toilet waste. Add a treatment tablet after first use. Propane: Powers the stove, furnace, and water heater. Usually lasts a full weekend. We fill it before every rental. Battery: Powers lights and fans when not plugged in. We charge it before every rental.
Campsite Etiquette
- Quiet hours are usually 10pm-8am — honor them
- Keep generator use to daylight hours in most campgrounds
- Your outdoor furniture stays within your site footprint
- Always dump tanks properly — never on the ground
- Wave at your neighbors. RV people are friendly.
- Pick up after pets immediately
Common First-Timer Mistakes
- Forgetting to open slideouts before cooking or sleeping (it makes a huge difference)
- Running the water heater on electric when not connected to power
- Driving with the antenna up — always retract before moving
- Overfilling the grey tank (check it daily if showering)
- Not leveling the fridge — it needs to be level to work properly
How to Actually Relax
This sounds obvious but — the goal is to enjoy yourself. Do not spend the trip worrying about the systems. Trust the walkthrough, use the guidebook, and call us if something comes up. That is literally what we are here for. The best trips happen when people stop trying to control everything and just settle in.
