Halloween weekend is the biggest weekend of the year at the Imperial Sand Dunes. It is dry camping on public land — no hookups, no services — so the RV you bring is your power, water and base camp.
Rules checked 2026-09-29. Organizers update rules every year — confirm on the official event site before you go.
Yes. Stress Free RVs rents self-contained RVs and toy hauler trailers for Glamis. You can pick up in El Cajon, or we deliver and set up your camp and pick it up after the weekend.
Yes. The BLM requires an Imperial Sand Dunes permit from October 1 through April 15. Buy it in advance — it costs less than buying on site.
No. Glamis is dry camping on public land. Our units arrive with full fresh water and empty tanks, and a generator for power.
Yes. Groups of 3 or more units get coordinated delivery, one contact and one invoice. Request a group quote and tell us how many people and sand toys you are bringing.
No. Glamis is BLM land with no electric, water, or sewer hookups. Every rental includes a generator and full water and propane tanks.
Toy haulers are the standard rental at Glamis — garage space for quads, dirt bikes, and razors, plus full living quarters.
Plan for all three: fresh water, propane, and waste. Every rental leaves with full water and propane; our LUDIFY services cover pre-trip fresh water fill and post-trip propane refill and waste tank service.
Limited and unreliable. Unlimited Wi-Fi via Starlink is strongly recommended for any rental at Glamis.

Turn off all items when not in use
Lights, A/C, generator, fans, water pump, and propane appliances. Conserves battery, extends propane, and avoids wear on systems you may need later.
Avoid these common mistakes
Don't leave the awning open when not underneath it
Wind gusts can flip or break awnings in seconds. If you're not actively under it — especially overnight or during weather — retract it.
Don't leave windows or vents open
When you leave the unit unattended, close windows and roof vents. Prevents weather damage, dust intrusion, theft, and pest entry.

Returning the RV
Six steps to a clean return — most renters never see additional charges when these are completed.
Six steps to wrap up your trip and keep your security deposit intact.
Sweep, wipe down surfaces, take out trash, and double-check storage cabinets. We do a full turnover cleaning — your job is to leave it in reasonable condition.
Anything broke or stopped working during the trip? Tell us at return. Helps us address it before the next renter and keeps the inspection process honest.
Black tank → gray tank → fresh water. Use a designated dump station — never on the side of the road. (Skip this step if you purchased the Empty and Flush Waste Tanks add-on; we'll handle it.)
Return propane and fuel to the levels documented at trip start. Saves you the per-gallon refueling charge ($20/gal + labor) listed in Posted Rates.
Walk through the unit with our staff, confirm condition, sign the trip-end inspection form. This is what releases your security deposit hold.
Public reviews help other renters find us. Private feedback helps us improve. We genuinely want both — separately, so honest critique never costs you a star.
A clean return means no extra charges. If the unit needs additional cleaning beyond standard turnover, the labor rate from Posted Rates applies — most renters complete the steps above and never see those charges.

If Plans Change
Clear timelines for changes and refunds.
Refund eligibility is determined by when you cancel relative to your check-in date. The earlier you cancel, the more you get back.
Within 24 hours of booking
Reservations may be cancelled for free within 24 hours of initial booking.
Exception: reservations made within 48 hours of trip check-in time are not eligible for the grace period.
30+ days before check-in
Refund on any unused line items (delivery, add-ons, services).
The nightly rate itself is non-refundable at this stage.
Within 14 days of check-in
No refunds are issued for cancellations within 14 days of your trip's check-in time.
This includes the nightly rate, add-ons, and any other line items.
