The Best Events to Bring an RV to in Southern California

Coachella, King of the Hammers, Glamis Thanksgiving, Stagecoach — the definitive guide to SoCal events where an RV is not just useful, it is essential.

Some events are just better from an RV. You wake up steps from the action, skip the traffic exodus, and turn a day trip into a full experience. Southern California has some of the best festival and off-road event RV camping in the country. Here is where we send the most rigs — and everything you need to know for each one.

Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival

Coachella has a dedicated RV camping section right on the polo grounds. You park once and walk to the stages. RV camping passes sell out months before the festival tickets, so book your unit AND your camping pass early. We deliver and set up — you just show up.

Add a golf cart rental to your Coachella booking — we deliver both. Navigate the grounds, reach far stages, and carry your crew without breaking a sweat.

King of the Hammers — Johnson Valley

KOH in February turns the Johnson Valley OHV area into one of the largest off-road events in the world. Over 50,000 people camp on the dry lakebed. There are no hookups — bring a generator and extra water. Our toy haulers are perfect here. Book by November as we sell out every year.

Glamis Thanksgiving — Imperial Sand Dunes

Thanksgiving weekend at the Imperial Sand Dunes is an SoCal tradition. Hundreds of thousands of people camp in the open desert around Glamis. Some campsites have electrical hookups but most are dry camping. Big generators, LED lighting, and extra fuel are essential. Our largest trailers work great here.

Stagecoach Country Music Festival

Same venue as Coachella, same RV camping experience — but country music weekend. Less competitive than Coachella for RV passes. Great weather in late April. The drive from San Diego is easy on I-10.

Burning Man — Black Rock Desert, NV

The ultimate RV event. Burning Man is 8+ days, completely self-sufficient camping in the Nevada desert. You need water, power, shade, and reliable systems. We have sent rigs to Burning Man for years. Expect to spend 2 days prepping the unit and bring every supply you could possibly need — the nearest store is 120 miles away.

Burning Man prep is serious. Call us well in advance — we help our Burning Man renters plan beyond just the RV.

Tips That Apply to All Events

  • Book your RV 3-6 months out for any major event
  • Confirm event camping permits early — they often sell out before tickets
  • Pack more water than you think you need
  • Bring a golf cart if the site is large
  • Know your generator run hours and refueling plan
  • Arrive early to get your preferred spot

“Rented a trailer for a camping weekend and everything went really well. Was able to pickup trailer and everything worked out well for the weekend. Generator worked good to power the AC and keep everything cool even though we were camping in the desert heat with no shade. Definitely will rent from again.”
