Five Utah and Arizona national parks connected by scenic byways. This is the trip most travelers dream about and most rental companies quietly talk you out of. We don't — we build the rig around it. Driveable motorhome if you want flexibility, or a deliverable 5th wheel staged at the first park with a follow-car rental.
The Route
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
San Diego → Las Vegas
Departure day. Highway 15 staging run to Vegas or St. George. Short driving day so you arrive rested.
Day 2–3
Zion National Park
The Narrows, Angels Landing (permit required), Canyon Overlook. Stay at Zion River Resort or Zion Ponderosa.
Day 4
Bryce Canyon National Park
Navajo Loop through the hoodoos, Sunset Point, Inspiration Point. Cooler elevation — pack layers.
Day 5
Capitol Reef National Park
The least-crowded of the Utah parks. Drive the Scenic Byway, pick fruit in the historic Fruita orchards.
Day 6–7
Arches & Canyonlands (Moab)
Delicate Arch at sunrise, Island in the Sky at Canyonlands. Moab itself is a proper base-camp town.
Day 8
Monument Valley
The Valley Drive loop at sunrise. Sacred Navajo land — photographers's bucket-list shot.
Day 9–11
Grand Canyon National Park
South Rim, Desert View, Bright Angel Trail. Stay at Grand Canyon Railway RV Park in Williams.
Day 12–14
Grand Canyon → San Diego
Return via Flagstaff and Kingman, or extend with a Sedona detour. Deliver-back available at Mission Bay.

Questions about this trip
Can I do this loop in under 10 days?
Technically yes, but you'll be driving 4–6 hours every day. We strongly recommend 12 days minimum for a trip that feels like a vacation, not a relocation.
Driveable motorhome or towable trailer?
For this route, we lean driveable. National park roads favor motorhomes, and daily repositioning between parks is easier without hitching/unhitching. Towables work beautifully if you base-camp at two or three parks.
What about in-park campgrounds?
They sell out 5–6 months in advance via recreation.gov. Our concierge tier handles reservation logistics; self-drive guests get a campground strategy doc and direct links.
Summer months OK?
Grand Canyon South Rim and Bryce are comfortable in summer. Zion, Arches, and Moab routinely hit 100°F+. We recommend shoulder seasons unless you're committed to early-morning-only hiking.
