“It was my first time renting an RV and they could not have made it any easier. They were polite, professional, and very accommodating. The RV was perfect for the event I attended. It was a 4 day festival in the desert and everything was perfect. Thank you Mike and our staff for making this experience flawless and amazing. I will definitely be recommending you to everyone.”

“I got a chance to finally book a trailer and loved the experience start to finish. We received top tier service and they always made it a point to treat people the right way, the unit worked out great and everything went as smooth as can be! I would highly recommend giving Stress Free RVs a chance to host your next trip.”

“Rented a trailer for a camping weekend and everything went really well. Was able to pickup trailer and everything worked out well for the weekend. Generator worked good to power the AC and keep everything cool even though we were camping in the desert heat with no shade. Definitely will rent from again.”

“These guys are the real deal! I have a strong need for trailers in the entertainment industry. We had an A/C go out in the middle of a photo shoot. I called Mike and him and Carmen were there in no time to diagnose the issue and have us up and running in no time. Malfunctions are expected, we didn't expect the expeditious reparation we received from Stress Free. Deal with the pro's, thanks Mike and Carmen!”

“What an amazing experience we had. We lost our home in a hurricane and the owner Mike went above and beyond the call to make us feel at home. The unit was immaculate. Stocked, clean and ready for anything we needed. Customer service was unbeatable and it made a very difficult time in our lives a world easier. I would recommend this company a hundred times over.”

“We had another rental company cancel on us the day before our trip and Stress Free was able to put something together for us last minute! I interacted directly with the owner as well as multiple staff members. Everyone I spoke with was friendly, professional, and helpful. It was clearly important to them that my family and I have a great time on our vacation, which we did!”

“A group of 3 of us rented an RV for EDC Las Vegas. The RV was delivered on-time and was clean. The staff explained everything to us before we left on our trip. We did dry camping with the on-board generator for power and everything worked well. The A/C unit cooled down the RV in minutes. It made camping for EDC a lot more fun.”

“After planning an extensive trip in our rental RV travelling from the UK, the RV we had booked was no longer available as it had been damaged the day before. Mike substituted our original A Class for another newer model at no additional charge. Off we went on our 5 week 2300 mile adventure. The RV was faultless, we had a brilliant experience. Thank you for a once in a lifetime experience Mike!”

The Burning Man RV Guide

Black Rock City 2027 runs August 29 – September 6. An RV is the most comfortable way to survive the playa — but Burning Man has firm rules about how RVs get in and what they can leave behind.

The rules

  • RVs may not be delivered by an outside vendor — you drive your RV in yourself. (Burning Man Project FAQ)
  • Burning Man removed delivered housing (RV delivery) from its Outside Services program in 2020. (Burning Man Project — Outside Services)
  • Dumping grey or black water on the playa is prohibited by federal closure order. Plan for tank pumping or carry it out. (BLM closure order)
  • There is no water refill on the playa — bring everything you need (the official planning figure is 1.5 gallons per person per day, before showers). (Burning Man Project)

How Stress Free RVs works within them

  • Drive-away playa packages: we prep, you drive in with your ticket and vehicle pass.
  • Units leave with full fresh water, full propane, empty tanks and a generator ready for the heat.
  • Five straight Burning Man sell-outs — we know what the playa does to an RV and prep for it.
  • Group camps: several RVs prepped and released together, one contact for your whole camp.

Rules checked 2026-09-29. Organizers update rules every year — confirm on the official event site before you go.

Burning Man 2026 RV Rental FAQs

Can an RV be delivered to Burning Man?

No. Burning Man does not allow outside vendors to deliver RVs, and it removed delivered housing from its Outside Services program in 2020. You drive the RV in yourself. Stress Free RVs rents playa-prepped RVs for exactly that.

How much water do I need in my Burning Man RV?

Burning Man's planning figure is 1.5 gallons per person per day before showers, and there is no refill on the playa. Our units leave with full fresh tanks; add water jugs for showers and cooking.

Can I dump my RV tanks at Burning Man?

Not on the ground — dumping grey or black water on the playa is prohibited by federal closure order. Arrange tank pumping with the event's service provider or plan your water use to carry it out.

When should I book a Burning Man RV?

As early as possible — our Burning Man fleet has sold out five years in a row. Reserve months ahead.

Can I take a Stress Free RV to Burning Man?

Yes. We are one of the very few SoCal RV operators that allow Burning Man rentals. Outdoorsy and RVshare blacklist BM — we do not. We have sold out Burning Man inventory 5 years in a row (2022–2026).

Do you deliver to Black Rock City?

No. We deliver as far as Reno / Sparks staging area for $3,999, or all the way to the playa for $4,999. Most renters self-pickup at our Sycuan Market location in El Cajon, CA, or have us deliver to LA, Las Vegas, or Reno staging cities.

How much does a Burning Man RV rental cost?

Our flat-rate event packages start at $1,999 for a small towable trailer (sleeps up to 3) and go up to $12,500 for a Class A diesel pusher (sleeps up to 6). All packages include playa-ready prep, full walkthrough, and emergency trip support. Required event fees ($250 prep + $1,200 motorized service for drivable units) and insurance apply.

What is included in the playa-ready prep?

Pre-trip inspection, generator service, oil change, full walkthrough tutorial, and the essential supply kit. We pre-seal and pre-protect every BM unit — show up and burn.

Can I find Stress Free RVs on the playa?

Yes. Camp Stress Free is located at H & 4:15. We are there for the full week, every year. Stop by if you need anything.

What happens if I return the unit dirty?

Returning vehicles dirty from Burning Man results in a minimum $1,000 deep cleaning fee for interior ($250 per hour × 4 hour minimum) plus a matching $1,000 minimum for exterior power washing if required. To avoid these charges, please bring back your unit clean.

Pre-Trip Checklist & Documents

Five action items to complete and four documents to review before your check-in date.

Action Checklist

Complete these five steps before your check-in date for a smooth pickup.

  1. Complete pre-trip information

Submit your trip acceptance form and sign the Supplemental Rental Agreement (SRA) before your check-in date.

  2. Read the digital guidebook

Review the Stress Free Man Comic Guidebook covering pre-trip checklist, towing, leveling, slide-outs, waste, and end-of-trip.

  3. Confirm insurance coverage

Submit your declarations page (Use Your Own) or confirm your selection of MBA Commercial Coverage and Stress Free Shield at booking.

  4. Confirm your arrival time

Standard pickup is 3:00 PM. Reach out 24 to 48 hours before to confirm. Earlier arrivals are possible with the Early Start add-on.

  5. Sign the trip-start inspection form

On arrival, you and our staff will walk through the unit together. The signed inspection form documents the unit's condition at check-in.

    On-Arrival Step

Required Reading & Downloads

Download, review, and save these four documents. They form the complete legal framework for every rental.

Digital copies are included with every reservation, and electronic signatures are available. PDFs open in a new tab. Save them locally for offline reference during your trip.

During Your Trip

Best practices and common mistakes to avoid while you're out with the unit.

Do

Best practices for a smooth trip

  • Read, review, and follow the general rules

Your guidebook + the SRA cover everything you need — operating procedures, prohibited destinations, occupancy limits, and trip-specific guidance.

  • Call or message us in real time

Anything feels off? Reach out immediately — day or night. Real-time communication helps us help you and often prevents larger issues.

  • Be safe, have fun

You're on vacation. Drive within posted limits, secure loose items before moving, and prioritize rest. The unit is built to handle the trip — focus on the experience.

  • Turn off all items when not in use

Lights, A/C, generator, fans, water pump, and propane appliances. Conserves battery, extends propane, and avoids wear on systems you may need later.

Don't

Avoid these common mistakes

  • Don't leave the awning open when not underneath it

Wind gusts can flip or break awnings in seconds. If you're not actively under it — especially overnight or during weather — retract it.

  • Don't leave windows or vents open

When you leave the unit unattended, close windows and roof vents. Prevents weather damage, dust intrusion, theft, and pest entry.

Need help right now?

Call us immediately — day or night. Real-time communication helps us help you.

619-935-3733

Post-Trip Checklist

Six steps to a clean return — most renters never see additional charges when these are completed.

Return Checklist

Six steps to wrap up your trip and keep your security deposit intact.

  1. Clean the unit and remove all personal belongings

Sweep, wipe down surfaces, take out trash, and double-check storage cabinets. We do a full turnover cleaning — your job is to leave it in reasonable condition.

  2. Note any issues and communicate with our staff

Anything broke or stopped working during the trip? Tell us at return. Helps us address it before the next renter and keeps the inspection process honest.

  3. Empty and flush waste tanks + water

Black tank → gray tank → fresh water. Use a designated dump station — never on the side of the road. (Skip this step if you purchased the Empty and Flush Waste Tanks add-on; we'll handle it.)

  4. Refill propane and refuel

Return propane and fuel to the levels documented at trip start. Saves you the per-gallon refueling charge ($20/gal + labor) listed in Posted Rates.

  5. Conduct trip-end inspection

Walk through the unit with our staff, confirm condition, sign the trip-end inspection form. This is what releases your security deposit hold.

  6. Leave a 5-star review (and tell us privately what to improve)

Public reviews help other renters find us. Private feedback helps us improve. We genuinely want both — separately, so honest critique never costs you a star.

A clean return means no extra charges. If the unit needs additional cleaning beyond standard turnover, the labor rate from Posted Rates applies — most renters complete the steps above and never see those charges.

Posted Rates & Fees

Every fee we may charge, published up front — no surprises.

Informational Only

These rates apply only when triggered during or after a rental — they are NOT selectable add-ons. Most renters never see any of these charges. They exist as published rates so you know exactly what to expect if a situation arises (excessive cleaning, mobile dispatch, refueling, etc.).
